The analogy of the monkey and the mind

When you first begin your meditation practice and habit, meditators like to tell a story of how the mind can be like a hyper monkey, jumping around from corner to corner of the mind and how when you begin meditating this monkey is still there but now the monkey sits still, allowing you to enjoy the present moment and to free yourself from your suffering.
I find this analogy so interesting and so captivating, because it’s true, before knowing meditation in 2010, my mind would have moments where it was very jumpy or very eager to be super productive, I did not permit myself to relax that often.
But when I open my life, my eyes, and my world to the world of meditation in 2010 and also in 2018 when I open my world to mindfulness everything transforms, Right now that monkey is in a silence retreat (Laughs)
So anytime you engage in a habit, or a mindful habit, train your mind and you will see amazing results.
